In Revelation 1:8 Jesus declares Himself to us as, “I am the Alpha and Omega, says the Lord God, who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”
Jesus is declaring Himself as the I AM from everlasting to everlasting.
Do you have the faith to believe that Jesus was the I AM when you were being formed in the womb?
When you were growing as a child, and into adulthood..can you believe that He was the I AM who was there with you?
If I can believe that Jesus was, is and is to come The Almighty, in every season of my existence; it will bring me into rest from any guilt or condemnation from my past, contentment in my present circumstances, and help me with the worries of tomorrow.
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today, yes and forever.” Hebrews 13:8
John 8:31-59 Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, “If you abide in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
But these Jews didn’t believe they needed to be set free, saying they were Abraham’s children.
Vs. 58 Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was born, I am.”
This enraged these Jews to the point they tried to Stone Him.
Jesus is before Abraham was born. If I read my Bible with this faith I will be able to see Jesus all through the Scriptures.
But if have unbelief in my heart that He is the “I am” in my life, I will easily become discontent, complain and perhaps even attempt to cast stones of doubt at Jesus’ presence in my current situation and doubting His careful planning of my tomorrow’s.
However, if I believe He is the “I am, the Almighty,” in my present circumstances, my faith will raise me up above the downward pull of fear, and doubt, into His arms of Love.
This will change my perspective from the low earthly view to His Heavenly one. It’s like a small child being lifted up by his father to sit on his shoulders.
Immediately his view changes from his level to that of his father’s height.
“Heavenly Father, I come to you and reach out the arms of my soul, to be lifted up into your everlasting arms.”
