In John 14:6 Jesus declares Himself as the only door of access to the Father.
Ephesians 1:18 “For through Him we both have our access in one Spirit to the Father.
In John 10 Jesus declares Himself the only true door of the sheepfold. (Vs 8) “All who came before Me are thieves and robbers,…
When I believe that Jesus is my only access to the Father, Hebrews 10 becomes my reality with God. Any mercy and grace I receive from God comes through this access to the throne of grace. Hebrews 4:14-16
The depiction Jesus gives of Himself to us is One of a shepherd who has a sheepfold with an opening access but without a gate.
The Shepherd Himself, after leading His sheep into the fold sits across the doorway, protecting the access from any intruder and also watching over the flock.
There may be many earthly doors that I can hang over the access to my heart and mind. But Jesus will stand at those doors and knock to see if we will open these doors, not just temporarily for Him to enter; but allow Him to become the door of this area of my life.
So my dear brother and sister, when Jesus comes knocking on your hearts door, whatever area of life it may be, let’s not only temporarily open the door for Him to enter, let’s unhing these doors of self preservation, until He is the only door of our hearts and minds.
