In John 6:35 “Jesus said to them, I am the bread of life.; he who comes to Me shall not hunger, and he who believe in Me shall never thirst.”
We are looking at Jesus being the I AM in our past, present, and future. So I would like to look at all the “I AM” ‘s that Jesus said He is.
Today we will begin by listening to the discourse that Jesus had with these folks who were following Him.
In Vs. 25 Jesus answered them and said, Truly, truly, I say to you, you seek Me, not because saw signs, but because you ate of the loaves and we’re filled.
It can be easy to follow Jesus for the blessings of forgivenss, Grace, peace, etc that He freely gives to us.
But Jesus is calling us to a life of dependence of our existence upon Him.
A life who does not live by bread alone, but by everything that proceeds out of the mouth of the Lord.
Deuteronomy 8:3
This is the Bread which came from Heaven, for all who will come eat and drink of the Life and Words of Jesus Christ, ( His flesh and blood ). John 6
Isaiah prophesied of this in Isaiah 55.
These believing Jews quickly become unbelievers after Jesus spoke these things to them. They were very offended because they trusted in their own righteousness, as Roman’s 10:3 says concerning them.
“For not knowing about God’s righteousness, and seeking to establish their own, they did not subject themselves to the righteousness of God.”
So we also can be offended with Christ when He though the Holy Spirit speaks into our religious life, and reveals our earthly, selfish motives for following Him.
But as Jesus said to them, so He now speaks to us in John 8:32 “You shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
